A cherished staple of homemade kitchens across Brazil, this simple and comforting cake is known for its vibrant colour, achieved by blending fresh carrots directly into the batter, and its rich chocolate topping. Served at birthday parties, afternoon coffees, and family gatherings, it's one of the country's most beloved homemade treats.
While modern versions are sometimes finished with chocolate ganache, we stay true to the rustic tradition many Brazilians grew up with: a glossy chocolate glaze made with cocoa, sugar, and butter.
