About Roça
Roça (pronounced "HOH-sah") is a Portuguese word that means a small farm or countryside homestead — a place where life is slower, food is homemade, and everyone is always welcome.
Roça Bakery was born from a simple Brazilian tradition: there's always a homemade cake waiting at Grandma's house.
Growing up in Brazil, cake wasn't reserved for birthdays or special occasions. It was part of everyday life — shared over coffee, tea, laughter, and good conversation around the kitchen table.
Today, Roça Bakery brings that tradition to Windsor, Ontario through handcrafted loaf cakes inspired by family recipes, countryside hospitality, and the comforting flavors many of us grew up with.
Every Friday is baking day. We bake our cakes fresh in small batches in a commercial kitchen inspected by the Windsor-Essex Health Unit, using quality ingredients to ensure every loaf is freshly baked for pickup. Our cakes are prepared by a certified Ontario Food Handler, following recognized food safety practices while preserving the warmth and care of homemade baking.
Every cake is baked with care and a touch of nostalgia. Some recipes are timeless classics, while others celebrate childhood memories and seasonal flavors.
Our goal is simple: to create cakes that feel homemade, welcoming, and worth sharing.
Whether you're discovering Brazilian cakes for the first time or looking for a taste of home, we're happy you're here.
