The Story Behind This Cake
Made with real vanilla bean and butter, this cake celebrates the beauty of simple ingredients done well. Inspired by the rustic homemade cakes commonly found on kitchen tables across Minas Gerais, it brings warmth, comfort, and a touch of elegance to everyday moments.
After moving to Canada, I discovered the rich aroma and delicate flavour of real vanilla beans and wondered how they would pair with the simple buttery cakes I grew up enjoying. The result is this cake: familiar and comforting, yet quietly distinctive.
The tiny specks of vanilla bean scattered throughout the crumb add depth, fragrance, and character without taking away from its homemade charm. Rustic, welcoming, and timeless, it's the kind of cake that feels equally at home beside a fresh pot of coffee or shared with guests around the table.

Every cake is lovingly handmade in a licensed commercial kitchen inspected by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit. Every batch is prepared by a certified Food Handler following approved food safety practices. Some products contain tree nuts and other allergens. Although we carefully clean and sanitize all equipment between batches, our kitchen is not allergen-free.
