The Story Behind This Cake
Two Loves is a celebration of two of Brazil's most beloved sweet traditions. Moist chocolate cake, gently soaked with coffee to deepen and enhance the cocoa flavour, meets two iconic Brazilian treats: rich chocolate brigadeiro and creamy coconut beijinho.
The inspiration for this cake comes from two places that shaped my memories of home. The cocoa brings me back to childhood visits to my grandparents in the countryside of Bahia state, where cacao trees grew in the yard. Long before I knew chocolate as an ingredient, I knew cacao as a fruit: sweet, fragrant, and enjoyed straight from the pod beneath the tropical sun.
The brigadeiro and beijinho, on the other hand, are flavours found at nearly every Brazilian celebration, especially in Minas Gerais. Brigadeiro is a rich chocolate fudge made with condensed milk and cocoa, while beijinho is its coconut counterpart, made with condensed milk and coconut. Together, they have sweetened birthdays, family gatherings, and special occasions for generations.
The coffee doesn't overpower the cake: it simply helps the cocoa shine, while the contrast between deep chocolate brigadeiro and delicate coconut beijinho makes every bite feel balanced and comforting.
Part Bahia, part Minas Gerais, and entirely Brazilian, this cake is made for celebrations, shared memories, and the simple joy of enjoying something sweet with the people you love.

Every batch is prepared by a certified Food Handler following approved food safety practices. Some products contain tree nuts and other allergens. Although we carefully clean and sanitize all equipment between batches, our kitchen is not allergen-free.
